My response to Ann-Kathrin’s Questions:

How long have you been blogging?
8 months. I started my blog in June 2020. I am a beginner blogger.
What made you want to start a blog?
COVID-19. I was out of work for 9 months. I decided not to waste my time, so I took many courses in different topics. After asking myself what is interesting for me, I completed a couple of courses in graphic and web design. At some point I had to practice, and I started to design my website. This is how the Suitcase Travel blog was born.
How do you decide what to blog about?
It came out after several tries. I started creating a blog as a practice. I began with so many subjects and ideas and only one survived. Finally, I designed and launched my blog. Surprisingly, my practice transforms into the hobby. I really like blogging.
What has been a topic that you considered blogging about but haven’t (yet)?
I wanted to open category Winnipeg Happenings but canceled this idea because nothing is happening in Winnipeg. We have one lock down after another, quarantines and lots of restrictions, so there is no point to open this category. I think this was a good idea, but in the wrong time. I might put it on hold until next year. Will see.
How much time do you usually spend writing and editing a blog post?
A lot. For me it is a long process, because English is my second language. Even if I write a post fast, I spend lots of time on editing and checking grammar.
What is your favorite post on your blog so far?
I don’t have a favorite post. I write every post with love and passion.
What have you learned along your blogging journey?
Blogging is an absolutely new thing for me, so I have learned a lot: web and graphic design, marketing, blogging etiquette and rules, how to write the post, social media and etc. Still, there are lots of things I have to learn – improving and developing my skills- and I will. The most important things is that I started to feel more confident and began believing in myself. In the end, I really enjoy doing what I love.
