I am still on hiatus: just a little update.

I miss you, my dear friends! I really do! I just realized that you have become part of my life and I’m really happy to have you.

Also, I think it is time for my hiatus update and, honestly, I just need to vent about it.

I started my project a couple months ago and I knew it would be a big and complicated one, but now I might say it’s a huge and difficult project.

Are you curious what it is?

OK.

I’m doing a renovation of my home.

I wish I could say: Ah, this is just an ordinary renovation! But I can’t say it at all. It’s not simple and it’s not easy. But it started from a simple thing:

My oven exploded, and we had to buy a new range. The store gave us a very good deal, and we decided to change all the appliances. After installation, my kitchen looked so ugly, that we decided to change the kitchen. After the kitchen installation the rest of my house was looking outdated and sad. Now we’re doing renovations in the whole house, from top to bottom…… with lots of unexpected complications… And now we live in “renovation chaos”.

Thomas.

My husband is exhausted and stressed out. I’m tired too and starting to hate the word, “easy”, because nothing is easy. Everything is so complicated.

Hopefully we will beat the renovation. One day it will end and we will win. Hopefully before Christmas.

I will continue to be on hiatus just a little while longer. But……

I’m sending you hello from Thomas.

Work in progress.

Stay safe and I will talk to you later!

With love, Angela.

  1. It’s lovely to hear from you again, Angela!

It sounds like falling dominoes, where one knocks onto the next and the next thing gets renovated and the next… Complications are bound to happen just to piss you off. It’s sod’s law.

I love little Thomas on the ladder. What a sweetie. Totally oblivious to what you’re actually doing or how stressed you and hubby are.

Please find time to look after yourself if you can. This will end eventually, you will be finished and you will have a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming house that’ll be worth all the time and exhaustion.

Take as long as you need. We’ll all be here whenever you want to pop back to the blog. Sending hugs,

    Caz xx

    1. Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words. You are right: everything what can be possibly wrong goes wrong 😀😀 But I’m still optimistic.😀
My both cats are in shock. Molly is so scared and she hides all the time. Thomas is opposite. He is so curious that he pokes his nose everywhere….. and sometimes in paint, sometime in silicone 😀😀
      Hopefully one day I can say : Phew ! I’m done 😀😀😀😀.One day…..

  2. So nice to hear from you, Angela and to meet Thomas. What a beautiful boy and I’m glad to see he is participating in the renovations! Having your oven explode must have been frightening! Good idea to do the updating but I know what a nightmare it can be. You will love it when you’re done and you will enjoy it all the more for knowing you did it. Best wishes to you for a very happy Christmas and New Year. XX

    1. Thank you so much for your support and warm wishes.
Thomas is so curious, he wants to know everything and checks everyone….. one day he jumped into an opening in the ceiling and just disappeared there…… I thought we will get heart attack…… but he came back in 10 minutes…. from now on we watch him all the time……😀😀😀 who knew that he had a plan to go to the ceiling😀😀
Slowly but surely we are going to the end 🙂
Wishing you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! All the best to you!

  3. Renovations can be fun … but most of the time it’s just bloomin’ hard work! We’ve done it a couple of years ago and lived in chaos for almost 4 months (sleeping on a mattress in every possible room in our house). And what a pity … we didn’t had a Thomas who could help us 😉.
Good luck Angela – it will end eventually and then you will enjoy every moment of your newly renovated home!

    1. You are absolutely right! Takes longer and more expensive than we were planning. But now my only wish is finishing it before holidays.🙂

  4. Hi Angela, so happy to hear from you! Home renovations are always hard, specially when it’s a big project. There’s always some little problem coming along that makes the project take longer than expected. But once it’s all done you’ll be looking at your newly renovated place and feel very happy and proud. I just hope you can finish the renovations soon. Before I forget, a big thank you for your instagram support!

  5. Sorry to hear that the renovations aren’t going as planned. I hope you are taking some before and after pictures as it’ll be neat to see the transformation. We plan on doing some major renovations in the next few years and I’m already getting some anxiety just thinking about it. P.S your cat is adorable!

    1. Everything like a snowball, one thing after another. The hardest part is scheduled all work together and there lots of decisions had to be made and sometimes it has to be fast.
Yes, I took some pictures and I will be happy to share it later 🙂
After this big renovation I think I might be renovation advisor 😀😀😀 you can ask me any questions Thomas is our star 😀😀
      Thank you!

      1. That’s awesome, both in terms of how the renovations turned out, and also that you’re back in the blogging world. I have just started planning our renovations, so your tips were very helpful. It’s good to go in with a vision, but also to think about being the space being practical.

      2. Yes. We figured out lots of small things during the process which we never even thought about them and there couple things we would do differently now, but it’s too late 🙂
I’m very glad that my tips were helpful and good luck with your renovation project.

  6. So sorry to hear that you’re having DIY nightmares – it’s often the case that something that seems like it will be straightforward turns out to be anything but! Still, it sounds like you’re winning and hopefully you will overcome the renovations blues in time to have a very Merry Christmas! Just think how pleased and proud you’ll be of your newly decorated home in the new year! 🙂 Looking forward to more updates soon, in the meantime, have a wonderful time over Christmas! x

  7. Lovely to hear from you, sounds about the same experience as us, we are also renovating (2 places at once). I can relate to thinking it would be easy, nothing is easy, and nothing is quick… And when one says it could not get more difficult… It does get a whole lot more difficult 🙄😝 I hope that the end result will be worth. I have missed you too, and I have also been blogging much less frequently for the same reason. Take care.

    1. So good to hear from you Morag too! I was thinking about you recently. Hope you are doing good and i wishing you happy holidays, good health, happiness and great enjoyment !
Yes, the renovation like a snowball, one thing after another…… and complications started from beginning: the store where we order bathtub, lost it 😀😀 they lost bathtub! I can’t figure out how it possible, but it happened. 😀😀
In stores, not enough supplies and products and it’s very hard to find what we like.
Now we are very close to finish but I guess we have to redo some part of our floor including couple of stairs…..more work, money and time…..looks like it will never end 😀
Anyway……. Wishing you all the best and good luck with your renovation. Renovating 2 places at the same time…… this is enormously huge project.
Good luck and take a care of yourself. 💗
