    1. I think this is a wonderful location! We stayed nearby too, at Hotel Twenty One, and absolutely loved that neighborhood. It was very convenient. I fell in love with Rome and can’t wait to go back someday! 🇮🇹😊

  1. The Passetto di Borgo detail always gets me — an actual escape corridor built into the city so popes could slip from the Vatican to the fortress. We’re suckers for a secret passage; our kids would happily skip a dozen frescoes for one ‘this is where they ran when the city was under siege’ story. A single building that’s been a tomb, a fortress, and a prison across 2,000 years is basically all of Rome in one landmark. That rooftop view over the Tiber is going on the list.
