I Found a Yellow Submarine in Amsterdam!
No, I wasn’t dreaming. And no, The Beatles weren’t on board.
While wandering through Amsterdam’s beautiful canals, I spotted something completely unexpected—a bright yellow submarine floating on the water!
Immediately, one song started playing in my head…
We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine…
It made me wonder: Why a yellow submarine?
The Beatles released Yellow Submarine in 1966 as a joyful, whimsical song about friendship, adventure, and escaping to a happier place. Two years later, it inspired the colorful animated film Yellow Submarine, where music saves a magical world.
Seeing one in Amsterdam felt like stumbling into that story.
Whether it’s a tour boat, an art project, or simply a playful nod to the famous song, it certainly made people stop, smile, and take photos—including me!
That’s one of the things I love most about travel. Sometimes the best memories aren’t famous landmarks—they’re the unexpected moments that make you laugh and leave you humming a tune for the rest of the day.
Have you ever come across something during your travels that instantly reminded you of a song or movie? I’d love to hear your story!
