Art Symphony: Standing Glass Fish, Minneapolis, USA

This is a magnificent sculpture a Standing Glass Fish, created by Canadian-American architect and designer Frank Gehry.

First, the sculpture was part of the exhibition at the Walker Art Center and two years later was moved to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden where anyone can admire that extraordinary piece of art.

The inspiration began from Frank Gehry childhood, when his grandmother purchased fish from the market to make a gefilte fish, that is traditionally served at Passover and other Jewish holidays.

The large carps would float in the bathtub, and little Frank would sit near the bathtub and watched them swimming until the time to cook them. Later, the image of these carps was transformed into an amazing sculpture.
