Where to Next? The Joys and Challenges of Travel.

Lots of people ask me about my next dream vacation, and honestly—I still don’t know! As an insatiable tourist, I can go anywhere and find things to admire. I love walking through cities, discovering hidden gems and beautiful architecture, soaking in art and history, and, of course, enjoying a good coffee in a cozy spot. Comfort is key—convenient flights, good hotels in safe locations, and, especially these days, reasonable prices.

However, with everything happening in the world—rising costs, unpredictable news, new tariffs, and safety concerns—choosing the right destination is tougher than ever. But that won’t stop me from dreaming and planning!

New Experiences: From architecture to culture, every journey offers the opportunity to see something unique.

Personal Growth: Travel challenges you and extends your knowledge and viewpoint.

Memories & Stories: The best souvenirs are the unforgettable experiences and moments you collect when traveling.

Culinary Adventures: Tasting local cuisine is one of the best ways to explore a place.

Freedom & Excitement: There’s nothing like stepping into a new city with endless possibilities.

Costs: Flights, hotels, and expenses add up quickly.

Travel Stress: Delays, long layovers, and crowded airports can be exhausting.

Safety Concerns: Navigating an unfamiliar city means staying aware and cautious.

Unpredictability: Weather, strikes, or unexpected events can disrupt plans.

Decision Fatigue: With so many amazing places to visit, how do you choose just one?

However, nothing can stopped me.

Right now, I have a few destinations in mind:

London is a city where history and modern life blend seamlessly. From the grandeur of Buckingham Palace to the edgy charm of Camden Market, every corner has a story to tell.

I’d start my day with a breathtaking view from The Shard or The London Eye, watching the city wake up. A wander through the halls of The British Museum, admiring the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, and exploring the hidden alleyways of Covent Garden would be a dream.

Strolling along the Thames, enjoying a cozy afternoon tea, and ending the day with a West End show sounds like the perfect mix of culture and comfort.

I’d dive into art at the Tate Modern or the National Gallery or maybe take a boat to Greenwich for a dose of maritime history.

As the sun sets, I’d find a charming riverside spot to unwind, soaking in the city’s glow before heading out for a night of theater, cocktails, or simply wandering London’s twinkling streets—because in this city, every moment feels like a story waiting to be told.

Amsterdam is a city where old-world charm meets modern energy. With its winding canals, historic buildings, and vibrant cafés, every street feels like a postcard come to life.

Without a doubt, I would rent a bike and ride through the city, stopping for a coffee at a cozy canal-side café.

To fully experience the art, a visit to the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum would be essential.

Before stopping for a traditional Dutch lunch, I would also stroll around the Jordaan neighborhood’s courtyards and distinctive stores.

I would visit the Anne Frank House to learn about history before enjoying walking around the floating flower market.

Also, a canal cruise at sunset sounds like the perfect way to experience the city

Amsterdam comes to life as night falls. The city has a way of making every moment feels special, whether you’re strolling along the canals, finding live music or just having a drink. There is something about Amsterdam at night that is impossible to forget.

Prague is a city that feels straight out of a fairy tale, with its medieval streets, Gothic spires, and stunning bridges.

I’d walk across the iconic Charles Bridge then I’d explore the historic Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock puts on its hourly show, and wander through the winding cobblestone streets. Of course, the ideal approach to experience the charm of the city would be to stop by a little café for coffee and a warm trdelník pastry

I would go to Prague Castle during the afternoon and see its magnificent chambers as well as the incredible views from St. Vitus Cathedral.

A stroll through the charming Mala Strana district, with its colorful baroque buildings and hidden gardens, would be the perfect way to take in Prague’s beauty.

As the sun sets, the city takes on a magical glow. I’d find a cozy restaurant to try Czech beer, listen to live music or take a quiet walk along the riverbanks, watching the lights reflect off the water. Prague at night is pure magic—mysterious, romantic, and unforgettable.

New York City is a very dynamic and full of energy city. Every street there feels like a scene from a movie. From towering skyscrapers to hidden gems, the city is a mix of history, culture, and fast-paced excitement.

I’d love to walk through Central Park, admire masterpieces at The Met, visit the Museum of Modern Art are the best ways to see New York City’s incredible art scene.

Then, I’d wander through the charming streets of Greenwich Village, stopping at a local bakery or browsing in a tiny bookstore.

In the afternoon, I would go around Times Square and then enjoy the magnificent views of the city from The Empire State Building or One World Observatory.

I would like to see a Broadway show. Enjoy drinks at a rooftop bar in the evening and watch the skyline glitter in the night.

New York is pure energy—the kind that sweeps you up the moment you arrive.

Las Vegas is a city where the lights never dim, and the energy never fades. From world-famous casinos to dazzling shows, every moment feels larger than life.

We’ve already explored the city’s iconic landmarks—watching The Bellagio fountains dance, the Venetian canals, and strolling along the vibrant Strip. One of the most unforgettable experiences was taking a helicopter ride over the breathtaking Grand Canyon and sipping champagne as we admired its vast beauty. We also enjoyed a relaxing cruise on the lake and visited the impressive Hoover Dam.

Next time, I’d love to dive deeper into Vegas’s artistic side. Exploring the Downtown Arts District and visiting the Neon Museum, where vintage signs tell the city’s story, are high on my list. Seeing the Sphere Show and catching even more world-class performances would make the trip even more exciting.

I’d watch a Cirque du Soleil performance and be amazed by the magic.

In Vegas, the night never really ends—it just leads to the next adventure.

So, where should I go next? Have you been to any of these places? Let me know your thoughts—I’m always open to recommendations!

  1. If I could still travel and was not concerned with all the drawbacks you mention – I would spend time in Europe visiting all the historical sites and museums. I would not spend 5 minutes in a US city.

  2. I went to Prague last year (as well as Budapest) and had a good time. If you choose Prague, please check out the Honest Tour Guide on YouTube. He has a wealth of information. If you choose somewhere else….well, then you’ve probably already done your research.I really liked your comment about decision fatigue. Spoiled for choice sounds good, but it can be paralyzing. After some time, I get tired of making all the decisions–whether for myself or for both of us.Have a great trip and I look forward to reading all about it.

    1. Thanks so much! We’re in Amsterdam—we ended up choosing it for this trip. But Prague is definitely on our list, maybe for next time. I really appreciate the suggestion about the Honest Tour Guide on YouTube—I’ve saved it for the future.
And yes, your comment about decision fatigue is really true. Having so many great options sounds ideal, but it can be exhausting!
Sorry for delay response. I don’t have an Internet.
