City through the Lens: Saved Loves of Amsterdam.

In the heart of Amsterdam, love has taken a powerful new shape. Over 1900 love locks once left on city bridges — each one a silent promise, a kiss, or a secret — have been transformed into something unforgettable.

Artist Henki B. gathered these symbols of affection and created a breathtaking sculpture called Saved Loves of Amsterdam. It’s more than just metal — it’s memory, emotion, and history all in one.

Every lock tells a story. Together, they form a monument to connection, to fleeting moments, and to the idea that love — in all its forms — leaves a lasting mark.

If you’re in Amsterdam, this is one piece you have to see. It’s not just art — it’s the heart of a city that’s loved and been loved by millions.

    1. Yes, people still do it — even though the city removes them regularly to protect the bridges from damage! Some bridges were getting so heavy with locks, parts started to rust or weaken over time. That’s actually what inspired the artist to collect them and turn them into something permanent. Instead of being thrown away, all those little love stories now live on in one beautiful sculpture.

    1. Definitely a great reason to come back! 😊 The sculpture was added after 2023, so it’ll be something new to enjoy next time. And don’t forget to visit A’DAM Lookout and try the swing on the roof — it’s such a fun experience with amazing views of the city! 🌆🎢
