Have you watched the movie Midnight in Paris?

If NOT:
I recommend you watch it. Believe me, you are going to like it.
“Midnight in Paris” is a romantic comedy, beautiful fantasy and well-done movie written and directed by Woody Allen. And, of course, it was shot in Paris, which is an absolutely gorgeous city.
It stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates and others good actors.
If YES:
I hope you enjoyed watching this movie, and I’m pretty sure you like the atmosphere, beautiful Paris, the Jazz era, Fitzgerald, Hemingway and other legends of the 1920th.

Plus, if you visited Paris, you recognized so many spots in the movie.
It is always fun to watch movies and say: “O! I was there! I was right there; I remember this place! I recognize it! ” Right?
If YES and you are planning to visit Paris, this fun tip is for you.

Do you remember an episode from the movie, when one night Gil gets lost and sits on some church steps while he was wandering around the city, then as a bell rings midnight, a big old Peugeot show up filled with revellers and Gil was invited to join the fun?
I know where this spot is. We found it when we visited Paris.

It is the Church of St Etienne du Mont, rue de la Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, Paris. Just a 13-minute walk from Notre-Dame de Paris.
I hope the map will be helpful for you, and you can easily find this spot and absolutely beautiful church, which you can visit as well.
What a fun tip! This inspires me to research future destinations and spot landmarks like this. Thanks for posting!

France is a really beautiful country. Only wish I could have seen more. I went to Corsica with a friend once…so gorgeous. The other times I was with my parents, first when I was very young and latterly after my mother died, I took my Dad who wanted to visit a friend in Rome and then visit the South of France and take the TGV to Paris where he complained about the weather. That last trip was very stressful for many reasons, but being in France somehow made it alright. Paris has a certain magic that few places do.

Yes France is beautiful and unlikely there always not enough time to see more things, but at least you were there and saw as much as you can.

We try to watch every movie about Paris or any other famous place we have been to see if we can pick out the sights. Will have to check this one out. In 2007, when we were in Paris, we checked out a few sights from Dan Brown’s the DaVinci Code, including finding the Rose Line in Eglise St. Sulpice, attending Mass there, going up to the organ loft to meet the organist and then checking out the restoration work going on at the church. All of these tips were courtesy of Rick Steves book. Without it, we would have simply walked by another church. It is always good to have insider tips. Thanks for sharing and stay well Angela. Allan

This is kind of hidden gem and fun too.
I love Dan Brown’s books. I read almost all of them. So much secrets, mystery and stories behind some scenes and details. I love it.
Stay safe Allan as well!

When you will visit Paris, go to see the Eiffel Tower in the evening first, then during the day light. A breathtaking view in the evening and on the day it looks absolutely different, but gorgeous too.
Glad you like the post Cherie! 💜

How fun that you found the spots in the movie! I do love that movie, although I’m no longer a Woody Allen fan. I love it for the artists and writers they visit back in their own time.
